Luxury resorts are definitely enjoyable, but I also like to get out and about to explore when I’m traveling. On a recent trip to Puerto Vallarta, I took a day trip with Vallarta Adventures to see ‘hidden Mexico.”
This all day tour starts by the ocean and heads up 2000’ in the mountains by way of 4wd Mercedes Benz Unimog vehicles. There were 11 of us on our tour and there was plenty of room for all of us and our guide in the back of the open air vehicle. The ride gets bumpy, but felt completely safe. We all has on seat belts and there are hand straps to hold onto. I often get motion sickness, but since it was breezy in the back I didn’t feel sick at all.
Our guide, Eli, was great! He filled us in with details about each of our stops and was able to answer all of our varied questions about history, culture, geography, agriculture, food and more. With the small group, we all enjoyed getting to know each other as we explored.
The tour included breakfast, snacks, lunch and plenty of beverages. It was a long day, but well worth it. They did a great job of packing a wide variety of stops into our adventure.
This was a fantastic way to discover more about the Puerto Vallarta area!
