🌊 Boutique Style in the South Bay: My Stay at The Belamar Hotel
Whether I am traveling up and down the coast for fun or taking a quick weekend getaway, finding a hotel that feels warm, distinct, and relaxing makes all the difference.
While The Belamar Hotel Manhattan Beach is part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, it carries a welcoming, friendly personality that feels more like a chic boutique hotel than a cookie-cutter chain.
I stayed here for a fun leisure trip, but the property is also exceptionally well set up for business travelers.
The location is safe, clean, and convenient, so you are just minutes away from LAX, SoFi Stadium, and the stunning shores of the South Bay.
- Pro Tip: Before booking, be sure to check your Hilton Honors account for current room deals, promotional rates, and bonus point offers!
🛏️ Inside Room #232: Clean, Comfortable, and Well-Appointed
During my stay, I was in a King Room (#232) overlooking the street and parking area. While it didn’t have the lush courtyard view, it delivered everything needed for a restful stay:
- Spacious Layout: Plenty of square footage to unwind, complete with a comfortable king bed, small fridge, and a functional table area.
- Great Amenities: Equipped with a large flat-screen TV, reliable fast Wi-Fi, and a clean tub/shower combination.
- Restful Sleep: The blackout curtains worked like a charm, keeping the morning sun out when I wanted to sleep in.
If you prefer outdoor space, the hotel also offers upgraded room options with private balconies or serene views of the central garden courtyard.
🏊 Outdoor Courtyard & Heated Pool
The outdoor courtyard is the heart of the hotel.
It features a spacious, landscaped patio area with plenty of comfortable seating where you can sit back and relax under the California palm trees.
The heated outdoor pool was absolutely fantastic!
It is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, equipped with plenty of fresh towels, and features a warm, surprisingly deep design.
I had the pool entirely to myself during the quiet morning and afternoon hours, while the evening brought more of a crowd.
The hot tub was piping hot, which was a perfect after a day enjoying the California coast.
🍽️ On-Site Dining at Second Story Restaurant
Having quality food just a short walk from your room is a huge plus, and Second Story Restaurant (conveniently located on the second floor!) did not disappoint.
The space itself is chic and cute, featuring a welcoming vibe and fantastic staff.
I dined there several times throughout my stay for breakfast, dinner, and evening drinks.
Everything on the menu was delicious, making it an easy, stress-free spot to start your day or wind down at night.
🚘 Valet Parking & Navigating the Beach
A quick note on parking: the hotel only offers valet parking, which can be a bit pricey.
However, the attendants took wonderful care of my car, and getting it retrieved whenever requested was fast and effortless.
You might be able to hunt down free street parking nearby, but the convenience of valet made things very simple and safe.
When you are ready to explore, Manhattan Beach’s local electric transit shuttle service is a total hidden gem!
It is super cheap, fun to ride, and exceptionally easy to use via an app.
It can drop you off right near the Manhattan Beach Pier and beach front, saving you the headache and cost of parking down in the busy sand section.
From there, you are just minutes away from catching gorgeous Pacific Ocean sunsets at the Manhattan Beach Pier followed by dinner at a local seaside cafe.
The Hermosa Beach Pier and Redondo Pier are just a little further south, if you’d like to drive there to explore the beaches, shops and restaurants.
🛒 Plan Your Stay at The Belamar Hotel
Whether you want to lounge by the pool, explore coastal Orange County and LA activities, or simply enjoy a safe, comfortable home base near the airport, The Belamar is a fantastic, reliable choice.
I would be happy to stay here again in a heartbeat!
