The Healthy Junk Vegan Faire was a whole lot of fun for vegans, those who are vegan curious and people who just like Motown music and outdoor food festivals. It’s an annual one day event and this was my first year to attend.
The festival is held at the Center Street Promenade in Anaheim where the Healthy Junk restaurant is located. A stage was set up near the center and booths filled Center Street Promenade and Lemon Street.
Admission was free and Healthy Junk validated parking for the structures adjacent to the festival.
There were a lot of food booths, but with the huge crowd lines were really long for those wishing to purchase a meal. Many waited for an hour or more to order. It would be great, if they doubled the amount of food vendors for next year. The food looked great, but I didn’t try as much as I intended.
Other businesses were giving out samples and selling vegan friendly products. I came home with a t-shirt and some hot sauce that my family loves.
The Motown themed entertainment was fantastic. Yes, there were literally people dancing in the streets. Fun was had by adults and kids!
I had a great time. Based on the amount of people that attended, I think they could turn this into a two day event and increase the amount of vendors.
