Do you enjoy wine tasting?
There is a great way to do it in Carmel by The Sea. This quaint little coastal town is home to many tasting rooms. Everything is within easy walking distance. If you are staying in town, this means you can walk from your hotel and not have to figure out who has to be the designated driver.
The Carmel Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center offers a discounted Wine Tasting Passport. It is good for 9 tastings and costs just $65. For my short trip, sharing a passport between two of us was just perfect. If I were staying for a longer time, I’d be happy to use all nine tasting cards by myself.
There are 15 participating wineries. I visited and enjoyed:
Others that I’ll have to try on my next visit to Carmel by The Sea are:
- Blair Estate Artisan Wines
- Galante Vineyards
- Figge Cellars
- Dawn’s Dream
- Scheid Vineyards
- Shale Canyon Wines
- Wrath Wines
- Silvestri Vineyards
- Windy Oaks Estate Winery
- Carmel Road Winery
- Alexander-Smith by Paraiso Vineyards
The Wine Walk Passport was a great way to tour and taste at our own pace. It was nice to be able to walk, shop, eat and enjoy the town while tasting and learning about the wine that is made in this beautiful part of California.
Check out the California Wine Club to try out small batch wines at home, when you are not out touring vineyards and wine tasting rooms! This is a great way to discover new favorites and save money.
Another great option is to order adult beverages from Saucey to be delivered to you, when you are traveling. They have a fantastic selection.
