I have been a fan of Westin Hotels ever since I first experienced a Heavenly Bed at the Westin in Maui many years ago. When I heard that a conference I was attending would be held at the Westin River North in Chicago, I knew I would get a good night’s rest.

Staff was friendly and helpful, as expected, and my room was clean and comfortable. I was on the third floor and had a nice view of the water below and the city just across the River.

The hotel was a good choice for business travel, as they are prepared with amenities that people need when they are working. The conference area was spacious and they were able to reconfigure it for different types of meetings, meals and speakers.

It was easy to get to the hotel from the O’Hare Airport. I opted for the budget friendly Blue Line Train, and would do it again. It was easy to get on the train at the airport and then a short walk from the Clark/Lake Station to the Westin. However, it was really cold for a California girl, so a ride for the short distance would have been nice.

There is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel. I found some nice restaurants in the River North area and also walked across the bridge to the theater district and Millennium Park. This was a good location for a conference and also a good stepping off point to explore the Windy City.
